Funding Information

Organisations are eligible to submit only one successful grant application each year. Exceptions to this rule can be made at the discretion of the Grants Committee (for grants up to $50,000) or the Board (for grants over $50,000). This restriction does not apply to local or regional bodies submitting applications where a national organisation has already received a successful grant.

For grants exceeding $50,000, Youthtown Inc. may require the recipient to provide evidence demonstrating the community benefit generated by the granted funds.

Eligible Projects

Grants must align with Youthtown Inc.’s Authorised Purpose, which includes:

  • The development and operation of Youthtown programmes and facilities.
  • The encouragement and development of amateur youth sports and facilities within established and legally constituted sporting organisations.
  • The encouragement and development of youth outdoor and cultural activities or programmes (including art, music, and drama) within legally constituted organisations in the community.
  • Financial support for community-based organisations that provide direct or indirect benefits to youth groups.
  • Any charitable purpose or non-commercial purpose beneficial to the whole or a section of the community.

  • Be a not-for-profit group incorporated as a charitable organisation or an association promoting charitable purposes.
  • Be an incorporated regional or community not-for-profit group in the areas where the funds were generated.
  • Be an amateur sports organisation that is an incorporated regional or community not-for-profit group affiliated with a recognised national body.
  • Incorporated national organisations are eligible if they can demonstrate that the grant will result in regional and community benefits.

Grants will not be awarded for the following:

  • Retrospective expenditure (expenses incurred before the application is considered)
  • Any venture where a Youthtown Inc. venue benefits commercially from the grant
