Eligibility Criteria

  • Scholars, professionals, and artists from all disciplines are welcome to apply, except clinical medicine.
  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field.
  • Successful candidates will have excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Applicants must have a clear and well-formulated proposal about their U.S. activities and how they relate to their work in Pakistan.
  • Applicants for lectureship must have demonstrated teaching ability in a university setting.

Ineligibility Criteria

  • Persons who have completed their Ph.D. within the last two years or have been in the U.S. for research or long-term educational opportunities within the last five years.
  • Persons with dual U.S./Pakistan nationality or who have a U.S. citizen or permanent resident family member over 18 years old.
  • Employees and dependents of USEFP or the U.S. Department of State.
  • Persons already studying in the U.S. or on a work/residence visa in any country.
