Open Call: Residency for Artists from Thailand

Thai contemporary visual artists are invited to apply for a 12-week residency at Delfina Foundation in London. The program includes professional development, travel support, and opportunities to engage with the art community. Apply by October 6, 2024.


The Delfina Foundation is currently accepting applications from contemporary visual artists from Thailand for a residency in London.

Residency Activities

During the 12-week residency, selected artists will gain time and space to develop their work and engage in various activities, such as:

  • Guided visits to museums, galleries, artist-run spaces, and studios, as well as trips to institutions outside London.
  • Opportunities to meet and collaborate with artists, curators, academics, and researchers through presentations, studio visits, and events.
  • Professional development activities, including crits, portfolio reviews, and mentoring sessions.
  • Collaborative exchanges among residents through informal gatherings and shared meals.

Travel and Living Support

The selected applicants will receive the following support:

  • A 12-week residency at Delfina Foundation.
  • A return economy-class flight.
  • Airport transfers in the UK.
  • Reimbursement of visa fee (if required).
  • £35 per day living allowance.
  • £1,000 materials budget.
  • Local travel passes for public transport in London.
  • A single bedroom at Delfina Foundation with shared facilities.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, applicants must:

  • Be a national of Thailand and/or currently living and working in Thailand.
  • Be a contemporary visual artist looking to develop their practice through research and resources.
  • Demonstrate how the residency will benefit their artistic growth and their local networks.
  • Be proficient in English, as interviews and presentations will be conducted in English.
