The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is inviting applications for the Cooperative Development Fund (CDF), aimed at strengthening cooperatives across Turkey, with a priority on cooperatives managed by women or those with refugees and migrants as members or employees.

Program Description

The CDF is designed in alignment with Turkey's 12th National Development Plan and offers grants to help cooperatives increase their capacity, expand their businesses, and create sustainable employment opportunities. The program supports cooperatives facing challenges by promoting economic recovery, social resilience, and the empowerment of women leaders. It encourages innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that contribute to long-term growth and social cohesion.

Funding Information

  • Maximum Grant: $10,000 per cooperative.
  • Grants will be disbursed based on completion of agreed-upon milestones.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The cooperative must be legally registered in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, or Mardin provinces.
  • Priority will be given to women-led cooperatives or those with women in executive positions.
  • The cooperative must have at least 10 registered members.
  • The cooperative must include refugees or migrants among its members or employees, or be open to including them as partners, members, or employees.
  • The cooperative must have been actively operating for at least 12 months.
  • Applications must be submitted directly by the cooperative, not through third parties.

Additional Selection Criteria

Priority will be given to cooperatives that:

  • Commit to increasing the number of members or workers benefiting directly from the cooperative's activities.
  • Dedicate to social impact through inclusion of diverse groups such as people with disabilities and women.
  • Produce goods or services that promote unity between refugee and host communities.
  • Adopt sustainable business practices addressing climate challenges, such as green production methods and the use of renewable energy.

Submission Guidelines

Interested cooperatives must submit all required documents listed above. If specific documents are unavailable, alternative documentation that provides similar information may be accepted at the discretion of the evaluation panel. The panel reserves the right to request additional information as needed.
