Submissions are now open for the Next Steps for Boston Dance Grant Program. This program aims to strengthen the dance field in Greater Boston by providing comprehensive support for local choreographers and circus artists.
Grant Overview
This grant supports choreographers and circus artists across all dance genres in creating original work and advancing their careers. The program includes:
- $5,000 in paid rehearsal space, available at various venues.
- Five consulting meetings with expert advisors in artistic, technical, communication, and planning areas.
- $6,000 in implementation funds for project completion or career advancement.
- Cohort meetings for knowledge sharing among choreographers.
- Ongoing post-grant support, including advice, workshops, and additional project funds.
Total Grant Value: Over $12,500
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Reside within the Boston Foundation Catchment area.
- Have choreographed and publicly presented work in the last 3 years (online presentations accepted).
- Be creating original work, with no restrictions on genre.
- Post-secondary students currently pursuing dance or related degrees are ineligible.
