The International Program in Public Health Leadership is an eight-month, fully funded program designed for emerging leaders working in or closely with African Ministries of Health. This prestigious program is offered by the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington, in collaboration with the Center for Creative Leadership.
Program Overview
The program provides a robust focus on:
- Individual coaching and mentoring
- Peer sharing and learning
- Development of a community of practice to tackle policy and program implementation challenges
Participants will gain access to a wider network that helps address the complex issues they face in public health. The curriculum covers critical fields including organizational management, policy formation, communication, and leadership.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Be mid-career public health professionals from Africa, working in government or a government partner entity at any level (federal, regional, state, or provincial).
- Manage public health programs with supervisory responsibilities, either individual staff or a team.
- Be accountable for the performance of public health programs or managing front-line health workers.
- Hold a degree related to public health or be a medical professional.
- Be a citizen and resident of a country in Africa.
- Possess strong English-language skills and the ability to articulate policy or program implementation challenges.
