Grant Competition for NGOs in Ukraine

The Eastern Europe Foundation has announced a grant competition to strengthen the sustainability and effectiveness of civil society organizations (CSOs) providing services to civilians affected by the full-scale invasion. This initiative is part of the third phase of the program "Capable and Strong."

Objectives

The grants will support CSOs that provide services to war victims, particularly vulnerable groups such as women, internally displaced persons (IDPs), the elderly, people with disabilities, veterans, families of military personnel, ethnic minorities, LGBTQI communities, and children. Support will focus on:

  • Addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and protection of human rights.
  • Supporting IDPs and ethnic minorities with psychosocial support and humanitarian assistance.
  • Providing measures for social integration, rehabilitation, and skill development for IDPs and the affected local population.
  • Creating safe and inclusive spaces for work, study, and cultural activities.
  • Strengthening partnerships between CSOs and local authorities.

Funding Information

Grants are available in three lots:

  • Lot 1: 400,000 to 500,000 hryvnias for about 5 projects.
  • Lot 2: 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 hryvnias for about 10 projects.
  • Lot 3: 3,500,000 to 4,000,000 hryvnias for about 10 projects.

The number of projects supported and the distribution by lots will depend on the quality and relevance of the proposals and their budgets. Projects can last from 6 to 10 months (Lot 1 and Lot 2) or 6 to 12 months (Lot 3). Each organization can submit only one application per lot.

Eligible Activities

The Fund may support activities such as:

  • Staff expansion and professional development for organization’s employees and volunteers.
  • Acquisition of essential equipment and services.
  • Repair and maintenance of premises used for providing services.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

  • Charitable organizations and public associations registered in Ukraine with non-profit status.

Organizations registered in temporarily occupied territories or settlements where Ukrainian authorities do not exercise control are ineligible.
