The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is inviting research proposals for its Graduate Research Grant Competition. This initiative aims to support graduate and post-graduate students conducting research in disciplines related to the assessment, intervention, and support of autistic learners and their families.
Research Focus Areas
OAR encourages research in the following areas:
- Assessment and Treatment Models: Analysis, evaluation, or comparison of assessment and treatment models or service systems.
- Early Intervention and Education: Applied aspects of early intervention, school-based education, behavioral, or communication intervention.
- Adult Issues: Research on continuing education, employment, housing models, and later intervention for adults with autism.
- Family Support and Community Integration: Issues related to family support, social and community integration, and challenging behaviors.
- Communication Systems: Efficacy of alternative or augmentative communication systems for autistic individuals across their lifespan.
- Applied Research: Research conducted in real-life contexts where the intervention outcome is expected to be applied.
Funding Information
The grant awards are as follows:
- $2,000: For Doctoral or Post-doctoral candidates.
- $1,000: For Master’s candidates.
OAR will make up to 12 awards, totaling $20,000 in grants.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants include:
- International students and students outside the U.S.
