The Senckenberg Society for Nature Research offers fellowships to highly motivated and talented early career scientists (doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers) from the Global South.
Purpose
The goal of the Senckenberg Society is to support excellent research, expand and strengthen the worldwide cooperation network, and contribute to the global exchange of knowledge. Fellows will have access to the Senckenberg collection, research laboratories, infrastructure, libraries, and scientific staff expertise.
Funding Information
Fellowships are offered as follows:
- PhD students: €1,600 per month for up to 6 months.
- Postdoctoral researchers: €2,700 per month for up to 6 months.
A one-time travel allowance of up to €1,200 is also provided.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be from a country in the Global South.
- Hold a Master’s or PhD degree in one of Senckenberg’s research areas.
- Contact a suitable scientist at Senckenberg to develop a research concept for the funded time at Senckenberg.
