Gasworks Residency Program for Artists based in Italy

The Gasworks is excited to announce an open call for artists based in Italy for their residency program. This residency supports professional development, cultural exchange, and artistic experimentation.

Residency Details

The eleven-week residency will take place at Gasworks in London from January 6 to March 24, 2025. It is fully funded and self-led, focusing on enabling artists to research and develop new work, engage with the city, and build their networks. The residency is supported by Fondazione Memmo.

  • A materials budget of up to £800.
  • A prepaid travel card (TFL zones 1+2) for unlimited travel within central London.

  • Networking opportunities and at least two individual studio visits with artists, curators, and arts professionals.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to early-career contemporary visual artists based in Italy.
  • Artists of all ages working in any discipline are welcome.
  • Applicants should have a moderate level of spoken English and be comfortable discussing their work in English.

Selection Criteria

  • Selection will be based on the application and a panel including Gasworks representatives and external advisors.
  • Priority will be given to artists making high-quality work who have not previously worked in London.
  • Shortlisted artists will be invited for a short online interview with Gasworks staff.
