Overview
This challenge is organized under the Circular Bio-Economy Innovation Hub, established through the One CGIAR Nature Positive Solutions initiative. The goal is to encourage young innovators to showcase groundbreaking ideas around the concept of circularity. Participants will gain exposure to evolving technologies, interact with global experts at the boot camp, and compete for exciting prizes.
The challenge consists of two rounds, with the top five participants or teams earning a chance to attend an exclusive two-day boot camp in Pune.
Purpose
The purpose of the challenge is to foster innovation and creativity in addressing one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time—managing and repurposing bio/organic waste. By encouraging young minds to develop circularity models, the challenge seeks to inspire solutions where waste is not just disposed of but transformed into valuable resources, creating a closed-loop system.
This initiative aims to provide participants with hands-on experience in sustainability practices, enhance problem-solving skills, and potentially uncover scalable solutions for real-world applications.
Themes
Participants are invited to develop innovative solutions for the circularity of organic waste in the following areas:
- Agricultural waste
- Livestock waste
- Food waste
- Human waste
- Municipal organic waste

- Certificate of Participation: All participants will receive a certificate recognizing their involvement in the challenge.

- Exciting Cash Prizes: The top 5 innovative solutions will be rewarded with cash prizes as follows:
- Grand Prize – Top Innovative Solution: Rs 50,000
- 1st Runner up: Rs 30,000
- Other three finalists: Rs 10,000 each
Eligibility Criteria
This challenge is open to students, regardless of subject background, who are currently pursuing their Graduation or Post-graduation from any university registered in India.
