The Swedish Arts Council is now accepting grant applications aimed at promoting the international dissemination of high-quality Swedish literature and drama, as well as facilitating international exchanges in these fields.

Eligible Activities

Grants can be applied for to fund activities that promote Swedish literature and drama internationally. Eligible activities include:

  • Travel and accommodation costs.
  • Fees and marketing costs related to the event or project.
  • Translation costs in connection with the project or event.
  • Information campaigns promoting Swedish literature internationally.

Ineligible Activities

Grants cannot be used for:

  • Translation of licensed editions of Swedish works or licensed performances of full dramatic works (these should apply under the Grant for Translation of Swedish Literature and Drama).
  • Events or projects occurring before the application deadline of the current grant round.

Eligibility Criteria

Grants are available to organisers of events or presentations aimed at the international dissemination of Swedish literature and drama, as well as for international exchanges in these fields. Legal entities conducting or organising professional literary activities, such as publishers, festivals, embassies, associations, or other organisations, are eligible to apply.
