Applications are invited for the award of the DST-Nano Mission Postdoctoral Fellowship in Nano Science and Technology for pursuing research in frontier areas of Nano Science & Technology.

Program Overview

This highly prestigious fellowship is tenable in Research Institutions/Universities, including non-profit R & D institutions, anywhere in India. It is awarded under the National Programme for Nano Science and Technology (NPNST) of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Funding Information

The fellowship includes:

A consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 60,000/- per month plus applicable HRA.
A research contingency grant of Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum.
The fellowship is tenable for a maximum of 2 years, with an exceptional extension for a third year based on research progress.
Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis but are yet to be awarded the Ph.D. degree will be paid Rs. 45,000/- per month plus applicable HRA until the award of the degree.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering or have submitted a Ph.D. thesis with a research interest in Nano Science and Technology.
They should have an excellent academic record and be under 40 years of age.
This fellowship is intended for researchers working in new areas and laboratories, other than where they obtained their doctorate.

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on:

Scrutiny of their bio-data, research proposal, recommendation letters, and performance in the interview.
Academic and research record.
The merit of the proposed research in Nano Science.
The facilities available at the host institution for the proposed research.

If selected, the candidate must join the host institution/university within two months of accepting the fellowship.
