Overview
The PhD fellowship aims to offer opportunities for young African doctoral students to participate in research on non-profit organisations and their contributions to African economies. The specific focus is on creating dignified and fulfilling work for young Africans through the non-profit sector.
Fellows will collaborate with Regional Research Leads and senior researchers. The research project will focus on themes such as gender, disability, geography, class, age, and various forms of marginality including refugees, ex-prisoners, and internally displaced persons.
Funding Information
Each fellow will receive a fully funded fellowship with a full scholarship of up to $30,000.

- The Democratic Republic of Congo
- Egypt
- Mozambique
- Rwanda
- Senegal

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Female, aged 35 years or below
- Enrolled full-time in a relevant doctoral programme at an African university
- Research interest in the non-profit sector's contributions to dignified and fulfilling work for African youth
- Committed to the programme and able to work effectively in a team
- Available to participate in the programme for its entire duration
- In the first or second year of their PhD programme
- National of one of the listed countries and conducting research on one or more of these countries
