Call for Proposals: Support Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Skills Development Program in Africa

The Support Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Skills Development Program invites proposals for VET projects that respond to concrete employment opportunities arising from EU investments, trade, and other market dynamics in Global Gateway priority areas.

Aims

The purpose of this Call for Proposals (CfP) is to fund VET interventions that align with the core principle of reverse-engineered VET. Projects should start with identifying concrete employment potential to inform targeted VET interventions.

Funding Information

The total volume of project proposals must be between 1 to 2 million EUR. Funded projects will be implemented over a period of up to 24 months.

Final Beneficiaries

  • The working-age population in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on women, youth (18-35), and disadvantaged groups, benefiting from skills and VET development linked to European investments.
  • Companies operating locally in selected value chains or sectors of the Global Gateway, benefiting from a skilled labor force.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

  • Private sector networks, companies, foundations, governmental organizations, NGOs, civil society organizations, and public and private VET providers.
  • Legal persons in an EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or eligible Sub-Saharan Africa countries.
  • Projects must serve the public benefit and align with GIZ’s purpose of promoting international cooperation for sustainable development.

Applications from individual organizations or consortia are welcome. Only one lead organization per consortium can apply. Multiple proposals may be submitted by the same organization.
