Overview
The Water Research Foundation (WRF) invites applications for a project focused on integrating requirements, drivers, and technologies to enhance water quality monitoring in distribution systems.
Objectives
- Evaluate existing water quality monitoring programs to identify opportunities for integration and future improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop guidance for implementing advanced approaches to manage and monitor water quality in distribution systems.
- Provide actionable recommendations for water utilities and regulators to enhance monitoring practices.
Funding Information
Maximum Funding: $350,000
Applicants must contribute additional resources equivalent to at least 33% of the requested funding. Contributions can include cost share or in-kind support as per 2 CFR Part 200.306.
Project Duration: 36 months from the contract start date.
Expected Deliverables
- A final report summarizing key discussions, findings, and recommendations from the workshop, literature review, and case studies.
- A webinar to share project outcomes with water utility professionals and stakeholders.
- Comprehensive guidance documents and factsheets outlining recommendations for enhancing monitoring designs.
- Peer-reviewed publications and regional workshops for sharing and discussing integrated monitoring experiences.
Eligibility Criteria
Proposals are open to U.S.-based and non-U.S.-based entities, including educational institutions, research organizations, governmental agencies, consultants, and other for-profit entities.
WRF’s Timeliness Policy applies to researchers, and those late on ongoing WRF-sponsored projects without approved extensions are ineligible.
