The Tilitonse Foundation is inviting proposals for the Civil Society Strengthening Fund Program, designed to provide both Restricted (Organisational Strengthening) and Unrestricted (Core) funding to local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Malawi. This initiative aims to support and enhance the capacity of CSOs to achieve their strategic missions and ensure organisational sustainability.
Objectives
- Support local CSOs working in thematic areas such as Early Childhood Development, Gender Justice, Mental Health, Safe and Secure Shelter, and Climate Change (Effects of Urbanization) to strengthen their organisational capacity.
- Assist organisations in identifying critical areas for investment to progress and develop towards achieving their mandates.
- Provide core funding to support organisations on their path to self-reliance and sustainability.
- The Fund is open to all local CSOs, including those supported and not supported by the Shifting the Power Programme Catalyst Fund.
Funding Information
Grants range from GBP 100,000 to GBP 300,000 for a period of 3 to 5 years, covering both organisational strengthening and core funding needs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be local CSOs operating within Malawi.
- Individuals and international organisations are not eligible for this fund.
- Organisations must be registered with the Non-Governmental Organisations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) and Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), and at least one of the following:
- Registrar General
- Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA)
- Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA)
- National Youth Council
- District Council
- Organisations must work in one of the prescribed thematic areas and explain how they will involve women, youth, and persons with disabilities in their interventions.
