The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is inviting Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for its Large and Small Grant Program aimed at supporting conservation in the Tropical Andes of Ecuador.

Funding Information

  • Small Grants: Range from US$5,000 to US$50,000, with projects expected to begin in the first semester of 2025.
  • Large Grants: Range from US$50,001 to US$200,000, with projects expected to start in the first semester of 2025. The exact amount will depend on the expected conservation outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Non-governmental organizations, community groups, universities, and private enterprises may apply.
  • Government-owned enterprises may apply if they can prove independence from government agencies, can apply for private funds, and do not claim sovereign immunity.
  • Individuals must work with civil society organizations to develop LOIs.
  • Applicants outside the eligible geographic areas may apply if their project focuses on conservation priorities within the specified areas.
  • Preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate a leadership role for local organizations or focus on capacity building for local civil society, and coordinate with other organizations to avoid duplication of efforts.

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must have a bank account and be legally entitled to receive grants.
  • Joint projects with clear roles for all partners are eligible, with one lead organization submitting the application.
