Call for Funding: Impact of Climate Change on Health
The Medical Research Foundation invites applications for collaborative research grants focused on the impact of climate change on health. This scheme supports pairs of mid-career researchers in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK who are transitioning to research independence and seeking to enhance their research profiles and networks.
Focus Areas:
- Understanding the biological mechanisms underpinning the impact of climate change on human health.
- Development and implementation of treatments for climate-change related illnesses.
- Understanding and reducing the impact of climate change on health and well-being.
Funding Information:
- Grants of up to £300,000 are available for a maximum of three years.
- The Foundation has allocated £1,700,000 for this initiative.
- Additional career-enhancing support includes mentoring, training, networking events, and further funding opportunities.
- Recipients will have access to a bespoke programme that includes training in equitable partnerships, grant-writing workshops, and networking events.
Who Can Apply?
- Collaborative projects must include a mid-career researcher from sub-Saharan Africa and a mid-career UK-based researcher.
- UK-based applicants must hold a PhD, DPhil, or MD, have postdoctoral experience, and be ready for or in the process of transitioning to research independence.
- Sub-Saharan Africa-based applicants must hold a PhD, DPhil, or MD, have active research experience, and be ready for or in the process of transitioning to research independence.
