About the WHO Youth Council
The World Health Organization (WHO) is excited to announce the opening of the application process for the second term of the WHO Youth Council, scheduled to run from 2024 to 2026. This unique opportunity allows organizations worldwide to contribute to global health initiatives through meaningful youth-focused discussions and activities.
The WHO Youth Council serves as a critical platform to integrate the voices of young people into the global health discourse. By harnessing the insights and expertise of youth from diverse backgrounds, the Council aims to shape health policies, support WHO’s mission, and drive innovative public health initiatives globally.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations interested in joining the WHO Youth Council must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the revised Terms of Reference. The opportunity is open to:
- Youth-led and youth-focused organizations.
- Youth chapters within larger entities operating at an international level.
- Organizations focused on health as well as those addressing broader issues impacting youth.
Additionally, all members must be part of the WHO Civil Society Commission. If your organization is not yet a member, you can submit your application alongside your expression of interest for the Youth Council.
Application Process
To apply, organizations are required to complete the online application form. Applicants must also submit the Tobacco-Arms Disclosure Form. Applications will be reviewed based on eligibility criteria, diversity considerations, and the organization's motivation, plans, and experience.

- Application Deadline: 23:59 CEST, 6 September 2024
- First In-Person Meeting: 10 – 12 October 2024
