About the ILHAM Art Show
The ILHAM Art Show is a tri-annual exhibition platform for both established and emerging artists to experiment and create new work. Participants will receive an art production grant to aid in the creation of their new work. The exhibition aims to support and promote contemporary art in Malaysia and stimulate public discussion and critical debate.
Funding Information
- Each selected artist will be awarded a production grant between RM2,000 – RM10,000, depending on the proposed artwork as agreed upon with ILHAM Gallery.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to all practicing artists over 21 years of age.
- Artists based in Malaysia (both Malaysian and non-Malaysian).
- Malaysian artists based overseas.
- Open to individual artists and art collectives.
Selection Criteria
- The ILHAM Art Show aims to showcase original work reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of the Malaysian art scene.
- Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel who will consider work that is important, relevant, and timely.
- ILHAM Gallery curators will make an initial pre-selection, and the selection panel will have access to these and all eligible applications.
- Selected artists will be notified by email by March 2025.
- The selection panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
