The British Embassy in Lima is seeking bids for a research project to build an evidence-based understanding of LGBT+ rights in Peru. This research will inform partner interventions and policy-making while strengthening the UK's reputation as an ally in promoting LGBT+ rights.

Objective
The main objective of this project is to support the UK's commitment to LGBT+ rights and freedoms in Peru, particularly in reducing discrimination and violence in workspaces. The project aims to develop guidelines that will help companies create and implement inclusive policies, fostering safe and supportive work environments for LGBT+ individuals.
Scope
Bidders should demonstrate their ability to deliver a comprehensive report that includes:
- Research and Analysis: Conducting a thorough literature review on best practices for inclusive LGBT+ workplaces, analysing existing policies, and engaging with LGBT+ employees and advocacy groups for insights.
- Toolkit Development: Creating a practical and user-friendly toolkit that includes guidelines for policy development, strategies for creating supportive environments, best practices for recruitment and retention of LGBT+ employees, and training resources for all staff levels.
- Implementation Support: Providing guidance to organisations in the toolkit's initial implementation phase, along with a follow-up plan to evaluate its impact and propose tools for monitoring and assessment.
Communications Plan
Bids should include a communications plan to launch the report. This could involve events, social media campaigns, and press releases.
Funding Information
Project proposals can be submitted for funding of up to £15,000 (approx. S/68,700 or $18,000). Projects are expected to start in October 2024 and be completed by March 2025.
Criteria
Bids will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Strategic fit: Alignment with the project's objectives and scope.
- Project viability: Realistic methodologies and activities to deliver the outcomes within the project timeline.
- Stakeholder management: Capacity to engage with key stakeholders, including diverse LGBT+ rights organisations in Peru.
