Overview

The German taz Panter Foundation is seeking applications from female journalists in the Middle East and North Africa to support their reporting on climate change through a series of workshops and networking opportunities.

Benefits

  • Access to 39 online seminars from November 2024 to August 2026.
  • Participation in a kick-off workshop in the region and a journalistic exchange in Berlin for winners of the Green Panter Award.
  • Formation of a network of 25 experienced women journalists from the region.
  • Training in environmental journalism, interaction with international experts, and opportunities to publish nationally and internationally on environmental topics.
  • Chance to win the Green Panter Award and experience the German media landscape in Berlin.

Further Information

The workshop is free of charge. Expenses related to the kick-off meeting and the Berlin visit for award winners (including flight, hotel, and meals) will be covered by the taz Panter Foundation.

Requirements for Participation

  • Journalistic experience in print, online, radio, or TV outlets.
  • Access to the internet (computer or notebook, smartphone).
  • Working language will be Arabic, with simultaneous translation to/from English. Passive English skills are acceptable. No translation into Kurdish.
  • Journalists without international experience are highly welcome.
