The Whole Kids Foundation, in collaboration with The Bee Cause Project, is excited to offer the Traditional Bee Grant Program. This initiative aims to spark curiosity about bees among young people, highlighting their importance in our food system and the need for their conservation.
Grant Options
The Traditional Bee Grant is valued at $2,500 and provides several options:
- $1,500 Monetary Grant: Supports the success of an educational bee program, including educational materials.
- Custom Indoor Observation Hive: Provided by The Bee Cause Project, along with a $500 grant for hive maintenance and incidentals for the first year. Includes feeder apparatus and insulated hive cover.
- Support Materials and Videos: Educational resources to aid in bee education.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, your organization must:
- Be a public school, non-profit private school, or non-profit children’s programming organization serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Not have received a Traditional Bee Grant before. If previously awarded, review eligibility for a Renewal Bee Grant.
- Use the grant to support bee education for students.
- Have the support of the principal or executive director for the bee program.
- Have a knowledgeable beekeeper or bee educator as a “Bee Mentor” to support and maintain the beehive.
- Designate an individual as the “Bee Advocate” at the school or organization.
