Program Overview

In response to changes brought about by COVID-19, SEARCA has modified its Travel Grants Program (STGP) starting in fiscal year 2021-2022. The program now accepts applications for participation in scientific events held online to support continued discourse and information dissemination relevant to agriculture and rural development (ARD) in this new normal.

Objectives

  • Provide opportunities for Southeast Asian nationals to present papers at ATTAIN-relevant scientific conferences and fora.
  • Promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge and information critical to agricultural innovation.
  • Facilitate networking and partnerships between SEARCA or the applicant's home institution and other development organizations and donors.
  • Encourage discussions on recent developments with scientists, researchers, and university faculty.
  • Produce articles or publications from the grantee's presented paper, whenever feasible.

Focus Areas

The paper should align with SEARCA’s priority thrusts under its 11th Five-Year Plan (FY 2020/2021 – 2024/2025), including:

  • Agri-Business Models for Increased Productivity and Income
  • Sustainable Farming Systems and Natural Resource Management
  • Food and Nutrition Security
  • Transformational Leadership for Agricultural and Rural Development (ARD)
  • Gender and Youth Engagement in ARD
  • Enhanced ARD towards Climate Resilience
  • EcoHealth/One Health Applications to ARD
