The Government of South Australia is now accepting applications for the Professional Development Grant Program. This program is designed to support the professional growth of individual, independent artists and arts workers by funding skills development and training relevant to their arts or professional practice.

Funding Information

Grants of up to $15,000 are available. You can apply for funding to support:

  • Mentoring
  • Short courses, including arts-related business courses
  • Work placements
  • Masterclasses
  • Workshops
  • Attendance at conferences
  • Arts residencies

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

  • Independent artists and arts workers (individuals and groups).
  • Small-to-medium and major organisations may apply only to host an artist-in-residence to benefit a cohort of artists.
  • Artists and arts workers employed by funded organisations (at least 0.6 FTE) require a financial contribution of a minimum of 30% of the total activity cost from their organisation if the activity relates to their employment.

Ineligibility

The following are ineligible for the grant:

  • Funded organisations (except for proposals supporting an artist-in-residence program)
  • Organisations funded through the National Performing Arts Partnership Framework (NPAPF) formerly known as Major Performing Arts (MPA) Companies
  • Statutory Authorities
