Apply for Music Industry Initiatives Program - Canada

The Music Industry Initiatives program, part of Amplify BC and funded by the Province of British Columbia, is now open for applications. This program aims to support the recovery and growth of BC's music industry.

Funding Information

Grant amounts available are:

  • $2,000 - $20,000 for individuals, collectives, and organizations without financial statements.
  • $2,000 - $60,000 for organizations with externally prepared financial statements (compilation, review, or audit).

Eligible Activities

Grants can be used for a variety of initiatives, including:

  • Industry conferences, panels, workshops, forums, and events
  • Training, mentorship, professional development, and talent development
  • Community infrastructure, digital platforms, and services that benefit the industry
  • Projects enhancing the capacity of systemically excluded groups in BC’s music industry
  • Development of resources, policies, or manuals for best practices in business, harm reduction, and equity
  • Collaborative business initiatives, showcases, trade missions, or export activities
  • Research projects that provide industry-wide benefits

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible projects must:

  • Build capacity and develop knowledge, skills, or resources for BC's music industry
  • Serve a broad benefit to the music industry, rather than focusing on one artist or organization
  • Include a business or industry development component, rather than focusing solely on artistic growth

Applications are open to individuals, collectives, companies, or organizations. New companies and informal collectives are welcome to apply. Projects must be led by the music industry, with significant industry involvement.
