What They Fund

The Wharfedale Foundation provides grants for not-for-profit organisations with an income of less than £300,000. These grants support projects that address societal divisions and promote unity in Yorkshire & Humber. Specifics include:

  • Grants of up to £10,000 over 1-2 years for organisations with an annual income under £150,000.
  • Grants of up to £25,000 for organisations with an annual income under £300,000.
  • Funding can be used for activities, core costs, development costs (including staff salaries, training, pilot projects, on-going services, etc.), with a focus on making organisations more sustainable.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are welcomed from the following types of organisations:

  • Registered charities
  • Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs)
  • Charitable companies and Community Interest Companies (CICs) limited by guarantee with at least 3 unrelated directors and no persons with significant control, including an asset lock.
  • Voluntary, community, and faith organisations with a constitution
  • Other non-profit organisations will be considered

Ineligibility Criteria

They will not fund:

  • Capital projects (e.g., buildings and land)
  • General appeals
  • Applications from individuals
  • Heritage projects
  • Projects not based in Yorkshire or the Humber
  • Organisations with an annual income above £300,000
  • Projects that do not bring together disadvantaged or marginalised communities
