The Saïd Foundation is accepting applications for its Scholarships Programme to empower individuals through educational opportunities and to support the development of the Middle East.
Purpose
The Saïd Foundation has been offering educational scholarships and training opportunities since 1984. The program is targeted towards outstanding individuals with leadership potential who will drive positive change in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for a Saïd Foundation scholarship, candidates must:
- Hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese, or Palestinian nationality and permanently reside in one of these countries. Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances will also be considered.
- Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 degree or higher, or be in the final year of their undergraduate degree.
- Have relevant work or voluntary experience and a clear career path upon completion of studies and return to their home country or region.
- Demonstrate leadership potential in their chosen field or sector.
- Have applied for an eligible course at a Foundation partner university or have legitimate exceptional reasons for applying to a non-partner university.
- Meet the Foundation’s English language requirements.
Requirements
Candidates need to meet the English language requirement of the Saïd Foundation, which includes:
- An IELTS Academic score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
- Duolingo test with a minimum overall score of 105 and minimum score of 105 in each band.
- TOEFL iBT test with a minimum overall score of 80 and minimum of 20 in each band.
Additionally, candidates must meet the English language requirements of their chosen UK university. Only English language certificates dated after 1st October 2023 will be accepted. A valid test certificate must be provided with the application; screenshots of test results are not accepted.
