The Dutch Film Fund is now accepting applications for its Pitch Film Idea initiative. This program is designed for filmmakers with a compelling idea for a feature film, long animation film, or long documentary.
Program Details
Filmmakers are invited to pitch their film ideas to test their potential as promising feature films. Successful pitches may lead to further opportunities for script development.
What the Panel Looks For
The pitch panel evaluates the core quality of your film idea, including:
- Clarity and conciseness in expressing what you want to make, for whom, with whom, and why.
- Appeal and potential as a cinema film.
- Convincing vision and potential to become a distinctive film.
Eligibility Criteria
For Feature Films or Long Animations:
- The producer must represent a production company established for at least two years in the Netherlands, EU, EEA, or Switzerland, with continuous film and audiovisual production experience.
- The producer should have experience in producing and releasing majority feature films or animated films (>70 min).
- The producer cannot be the same person as the film’s director.
- An experienced screenwriter can independently pitch if they have previously been primarily responsible for a released feature film or long animation film.
For Documentaries:
- The producer must represent a production company established for at least two years in the Netherlands, EU, EEA, or Switzerland, with continuous film and audiovisual production experience.
- The producer should have experience in producing and releasing majority-length documentaries.
- The producer cannot be the same person as the film’s director.
