Applications Open for OAC Indigenous Arts Projects - Canada

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) is now accepting applications for its Indigenous Arts Projects program. This initiative supports emerging, mid-career, and established Indigenous artists and arts professionals, welcoming both traditional and contemporary Indigenous art forms.

Program Categories

The program includes the following categories:

  • Indigenous Individuals
  • Indigenous Ad Hoc Groups and Collectives
  • Indigenous Organizations

Funding Information

Grants are available in the following amounts:

  • Indigenous Individuals: Up to $15,000
  • Indigenous Ad Hoc Groups and Collectives: Up to $20,000
  • Indigenous Organizations: Up to $25,000

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

  • Professional Indigenous artists and arts professionals (emerging, mid-career, or established) who are First Nations, Inuit, or Métis, and are residents of Ontario.
  • Ontario-based ad hoc groups and collectives with a minimum of 50% Indigenous members.
  • Indigenous-led Ontario-based not-for-profit arts organizations, non-arts organizations, centers, and councils.
  • Culture Carriers who are First Nations, Inuit, or Métis.
  • Indigenous-led professional arts and literary book and magazine publishers based in Ontario.

Ineligibility Criteria

Ineligible applicants include:

  • Non-Indigenous individuals and organizations.
  • Colleges, universities, municipalities, and for-profit organizations (except publishers).
  • Hobbyists and entities not based in Ontario.
