Applications Open for Nordic LGBTI Fund 2024

Apply for the Nordic LGBTI Fund to support projects that enhance Nordic co-operation in the LGBTI area. Applications due by October 1, 2024.


The Nordic Information on Gender (NIKK) is accepting applications for the Nordic LGBTI Fund to stimulate Nordic co-operation in the LGBTI area within the framework of the Nordic Co-operation Programme on Gender Equality, including its supplement Equal rights, treatment, and opportunities for LGBTI people in the Nordic region.

All applications to the Fund must state whether they include the following perspectives:

  • Sustainable development
  • Gender equality
  • Children and youth perspectives

Funding Information

The amount applied for should be between DKK 50,000 and DKK 500,000.

Requirements on Activities and Beneficiaries

The following activities may be funded:

  • Staging of Nordic gatherings/meetings
  • Investigations/inquiries
  • Network-building
  • Activity projects
  • Participation of volunteer organisations in Nordic or international conferences, courses, or meetings

Eligibility Criteria

The Fund is open to a wide range of organisations, including:

  • Volunteer organisations (not-for-profit organisations)
  • Networks
  • Government agencies and other public sector activities
  • Researchers and research groups
  • Other non-commercial actors
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

Each project must involve at least three Nordic countries, with the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland considered as one. Cooperation with organisations in neighbouring regions (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) requires participation from at least two Nordic countries. The lead applicant must be from a Nordic country.

Ineligibility Criteria

Funding will not be granted for:

  • Activities already financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers for Gender Equality and LGBTI
  • Activities that submit a budget in a currency other than DKK
  • Late applications
  • Incomplete applications
  • Political party organisations
