Program Overview
The Data Center Community Action Grants are one of many ways Meta gives back to communities where they have an operational data center. These grants support projects that address critical community needs by:
- Putting the power of technology to use for community benefit
- Giving people the power to build strong, sustainable communities
- Improving local science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education
Geographic Focus
United States: Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia
Europe: Denmark, Ireland, Sweden
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible organizations can apply if they are located in communities where Meta has an operational data center. The criteria vary slightly depending on the region:
- In the United States: Registered nonprofit organizations and public schools are eligible. Schools should inform the superintendent to ensure competitive applications.
- In Europe: Registered not-for-profit organizations and government entities, including state-run schools and municipalities, are eligible.
Organizations with upcoming projects addressing critical community needs through technology, building strong communities, or enhancing STEAM education can apply. The applicant must be registered as one of the following in their local jurisdiction:
- A registered charitable organization per the United States Internal Revenue Service, such as 501(c)(3) organizations, public charities, public schools, government entities, municipalities, etc.
- A registered not-for-profit organization in Denmark, Ireland, or Sweden, or a public institution including state-run schools and municipalities.
Ineligibility Criteria
Programs or projects are not eligible if they:
- Are operated exclusively for religious purposes or proselytizing
- Discriminate based on gender, marital status, sexual orientation, religious belief, age, disability, race, or nationality
Requirements
Applicants must ensure:
- Applications are truthful and accurate
- Content does not infringe on the rights of third parties
- They have necessary permissions and rights to include any depicted individuals or entities
