Benefits of Composting
- Reduces Methane Emissions: Composting through aerobic managed decomposition provides a more sustainable community.
- Lowers Greenhouse Gases: Improves carbon sequestration in soil, serving as a “carbon bank” by removing carbon from the atmosphere.
- Provides Essential Nutrients: Compost promotes vibrant gardens and farms, leading to healthier and more nutritious food.
- Increases Water-Holding Capacity: Enhances soil’s ability to retain water, important for drought and erosion management.
- Supports Community Gardens: Fosters green spaces that offer fresh produce, recreational opportunities, and community gathering places.
