Funding Information
Funding levels are available for individual projects as follows:
- Outreach activities: up to 10,000 EUR
- Infrastructure development: up to 20,000 EUR
Duration: The funding is applicable for projects implemented in the year 2024.
Scope
The Global Access Fund supports projects in the following areas:
- Outreach and Engagement Activities:
- Capacity building for training research administrators and librarians on open infrastructure and service fundamentals.
- Events such as webinars and workshops to promote open infrastructure.
- Development of outreach resources like videos, social media content, and podcasts.
- Open Infrastructure Development and Integration:
- Development and implementation of repository and publishing systems integrating DataCite APIs.
- Integration of DataCite APIs with local and national systems.
- Development of tools to obtain additional value from DataCite infrastructure.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit stakeholders within the research ecosystem (e.g., research institutions, associations, NRENs, government bodies) based in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.
- Applicants must be authorized to apply on behalf of their organization.
- Open to both DataCite member and non-member organizations.
- Preference given to lower or middle-income countries.
- Current awardees may apply, but preference might be given to new organizations and projects.
- Organizations can submit a maximum of one application per funding category, up to two applications per organization.
