The Australian Embassy Türkiye is now accepting applications for the Direct Aid Small Grant Program, which aims to support sustainable development and humanitarian projects aligned with Australia's national interest.

Objectives

The Direct Aid Program (DAP) in Türkiye seeks to further Australia's objectives by funding small-scale development projects. These projects should deliver tangible results for disadvantaged communities and promote a positive image of Australia while strengthening ties with local communities across Türkiye.

Sectors

The DAP Committee will focus on projects that create practical outcomes in the following sectors:

  • Earthquake recovery
  • Education
  • Health
  • Gender equality, including women’s and girls’ empowerment
  • Empowerment of persons with disabilities
  • Empowerment of youth
  • STEM projects

Target Groups

Priority will be given to projects that support the following target groups:

  • Communities affected by the Türkiye earthquakes in February 2023
  • Women and children
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Refugees

Funding Information

  • Maximum grant amount: AUD $20,000 (Australian dollars)
  • All funds must be expended by 30 June 2025
  • Projects can run up to a maximum of one year after the funds are expended

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be not-for-profit organisations, including community groups, NGOs, academic institutions, universities, research bodies, or local government institutions.
  • Projects must be carried out within Türkiye and applicants must be located in Türkiye.

Requirements

Projects must:

  • Be self-contained with clear timelines and a work plan
  • Expend all funding by 30 June 2025
  • Have clearly defined, specific, and achievable outcomes that benefit the target group
