Objectives
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) in Türkiye seeks to further Australia's objectives by funding small-scale development projects. These projects should deliver tangible results for disadvantaged communities and promote a positive image of Australia while strengthening ties with local communities across Türkiye.
Sectors
The DAP Committee will focus on projects that create practical outcomes in the following sectors:
- Earthquake recovery
- Education
- Health
- Gender equality, including women’s and girls’ empowerment
- Empowerment of persons with disabilities
- Empowerment of youth
- STEM projects
Target Groups
Priority will be given to projects that support the following target groups:
- Communities affected by the Türkiye earthquakes in February 2023
- Women and children
- Persons with disabilities
- Refugees
Funding Information
- Maximum grant amount: AUD $20,000 (Australian dollars)
- All funds must be expended by 30 June 2025
- Projects can run up to a maximum of one year after the funds are expended
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be not-for-profit organisations, including community groups, NGOs, academic institutions, universities, research bodies, or local government institutions.
- Projects must be carried out within Türkiye and applicants must be located in Türkiye.
Requirements
Projects must:
- Be self-contained with clear timelines and a work plan
- Expend all funding by 30 June 2025
- Have clearly defined, specific, and achievable outcomes that benefit the target group
