Project Overview
The Afri'kibaaru 2 project offers training courses on editorial, technical, and managerial practices for media personnel, along with a program of activities to enhance their understanding of climate change and improve their capacity to produce quality content on these issues.
Project Components
- Strengthening Editorial, Technical, and Managerial Capacities: Includes a launch seminar in each country with two selected media managers to present the project's objectives and define the on-site coaching program.
- Editorial and Management Training: Training to strengthen editorial capacities and administrative management.
- On-site Coaching: Three 5-day coaching sessions per media outlet based on themes defined during the launch seminars.
- Remote Coaching: Support in content production and application of learning through remote coaching.
- Gender Equality Training Modules: One-day modules to improve the representation of women in editorial policies and managerial practices.
- Knowledge of Climate Change and Content Production: Includes training seminars, press trips, and coverage of national and international events related to climate change.
Cost Covered
The project will cover travel, accommodation, and catering costs for meetings, seminars, and workshops. Transport costs for participants from outside Dakar, Conakry, Abidjan, and Yaoundé will also be covered.
Eligibility Criteria
This call is addressed to 20 media outlets from West and Central Africa (5 each from Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Cameroon). Specifically, the call is for:
- 40 media managers (2 per media) participating in various project activities.
- 40 individuals responsible for financial, administrative management, or commercial development (2 per media).
- All journalists from partner media (approximately 40 per media) involved in training, coaching, press trips, and coverage of events.
